Why Rugged...

Statistically, 75% of all reported damage incidents involve dropping, spilling liquid and falling objects. BSI’s rugged notebooks and tablets are products hardened to withstand harsh use in industrial and field environments. Environments may be dirty, dusty, wet, in-motion, vibrating, hot, cold, or generally hostile.

BSI’s mobile computers tend to be used in all of these environments and they are well able to withstand water, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, emissions, EMI and RFI, and the ability to survive in particle-laden environments.

SHOCK TEST

HDD's are mounted in shock-absorbing polymer compounds to insulate against shock from extreme jolts while protecting valuable data.

DROP TEST

Proves the notebook's survivability from accidental drops.

DUST TEST

In any environment dust and dirt have a way of invading the exposed areas of notebooks, potentially slowing key functions and damaging components. The keyboard and touchpad circuitry are completely sealed with a membrane to protect against potential damage from dirt and dust.

WATER RESISTANCE

The keyboard, ports and touchpad have been designed to resist accidental spills from coffee, water, and beverage.

IMPACT TEST

Tests impact resistance of LCD panels.

TOUCHSCREEN TEST

Tests for long-term repetitive touch-screen (or keyboard) use.

HINGE / TABLET TEST

Validates proper hinge operation for long-term repetitive use.

VIBRATION TEST

HDD's are mounted in shock-absorbing polymer compounds to insulate against repetitive vibration while protecting valuable data.

MAGNESIUM CASING

Every ruggedized GETAC notebook and tablet PC features a full magnesium case to assure superior resistance to bumps, drops and knocks. The LCD is fully encased to resist excessive shock or force.
