The VX-601 is a Rugged Vehicle PC supporting Intel's Core i5 6300U 2.4 GHz or the optional Intel Celeron 3955U 2 GHz and supporting up to 8GB DDR3L SODIMM. The front Panel consists of a 12.1-inch 1024 x 768 XGA LCD, which is IP66 Rated for added durability as well as carrying various certifications for super vibration, shock, salt/fog and operating temperature. The LCD can be 700 nits or 1200 nits brightness and supports auto-dimming and 5-wire resistive touch with an optional defroster function. Data storage is possible through an M.2 2280 SSD or SD slot. The VX-601 supports 9~60 VDC input with an Ignition sense capable of delay on/off setting as well as Remote power on, wake on SMS / RTC and UPS backup battery (10.8V, 4500 mAhr).

The VX-601 is not short in I/Os. It has one Gigabit RJ45, one RS-232 with power supported, one RS-232/422/485 and one of each USB 2.0, USB 2.0/ 3.0. A CAN bus (SAE J1939 / OBD II supported) is also available along with two GPIO and an optional video input. A WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Blue tooth V4.0 Class 2 are standard while a GNSS (GPS /QZSS or GLONASS) and a 4G LTE / GPRS / HSPA+ are optional.
