As we all know Microsoft will stop its extended support of Windows XP Professional on April 8th, 2014. This beloved O.S. has had a good run, 12 years of service and consumers as well as the industry are still using it. Although you can no longer purchase the licensing for this Operating System, you have the option to purchase Windows XP Professional for embedded systems. The End of License for this O.S. will be December 31, 2016 so there is still time to purchase it if you were not able to before when XP Pro stopped providing licenses.

I know you have questions like; will I be able to use Windows XP Professional for embedded systems on Rackmount, Panel PCs and other embedded systems? Let me assure you that only the name has changed and in fact you will be able to use this just as you did Windows XP Professional. Both Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Professional for embedded systems function in the same manner and have the exact same bits. The reason for the change is that Microsoft is now gearing it towards OEM suppliers instead of the average consumers.
